FYJC Part 1 Registration 2026-27: Complete Step-by-Step Guide
FYJC Part 1 Registration 2026–27: Complete Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners
Any student who just passed Class 10 and is filling the FYJC (Class 11) admission form for the first time in Maharashtra. This guide walks you through every single screen, every field, and every possible mistake — in plain language, step by step.
What Is Part 1 and Why Does It Matter?
Part 1 is the very first step of the FYJC (Class 11) admission process in Maharashtra. It is your student registration on the official government portal.
Think of Part 1 as creating your identity in the admission system. Without completing Part 1 correctly, you simply do not exist in the system — and you cannot apply to any college.
Here is what Part 1 involves:
| What You Do in Part 1 | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Create your Login ID and Password | Your permanent account for all admission rounds |
| Fill personal and academic details | The system uses this to build your merit profile |
| Select your category and reservation | Determines which seats you are eligible for |
| Upload required documents | Officials verify these to approve your form |
| Pay the registration fee | Your form is not submitted without payment |
| Lock the form | Signals to the system that your form is complete |
| Get your form Verified | Gives you access to Part 2 (college preference filling) |
Your Part 1 form must show the status "VERIFIED" on your dashboard before you can move to Part 2. A form that is locked but not yet verified does not make you eligible for the merit list.
Quick Reference
What to Prepare Before You Start (Pre-Checklist)
Do not open the portal and start filling without preparation. Get everything below ready first — it will save you from having to stop midway.

The Complete Part 1 Process — All 8 Phases
Phase 1 — Creating Your Account (New Registration)
Go to mahafyjcadmissions.in and click "New Student Registration." Select your region (Mumbai / Pune / Nagpur / Nashik / Amravati), then choose your School Area Status, Applicant Status, and Board.
Phase 2 — Entering Seat Number and Academic Details
SSC students enter their seat number and mother's name — the portal auto-fills your data. CBSE/ICSE/other board students must enter everything manually from their marksheet.
Phase 3 — Setting Up Contact Details and Password
Enter your email, mobile number, security question, and create a strong password. This creates your permanent login credentials.
Phase 4 — Filling the Complete Part 1 Form
After your first login, fill all sections: Personal Details, Address, Category & Reservation, and Qualification Details.
Phase 5 — Uploading Documents
Upload scanned documents (JPG/PDF, under 1 MB each): photograph, marksheet, SLC, Aadhaar, and any category certificates.
Phase 6 — Paying the Registration Fee
Pay via UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking. Download your payment receipt immediately.
Phase 7 — Reviewing and Locking the Form
Review every field one final time, then click "Lock Option Form." Once locked, you cannot edit without visiting a Guidance Center.
Phase 8 — Verification
SSC students get auto-verified in 24–48 hours. CBSE/ICSE/other board students must visit a Guidance Center with original documents for manual verification.
Phase 1 — Creating Your Account (Detail)
Select Your Region
| Region | Area It Covers |
|---|---|
| Mumbai | Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburbs, Thane |
| Pune | Pune (PMC / PCMC) and surrounding areas |
| Nagpur | Nagpur and Vidarbha |
| Nashik | Nashik and surrounding districts |
| Amravati / Aurangabad | Respective regions |
Select Three Basic Options
A) School Area Status
| Option | Choose If... |
|---|---|
| Within Maharashtra | Your Class 10 school is anywhere in Maharashtra |
| Outside Maharashtra | Your Class 10 school is in another state or country |
B) Applicant Status
| Option | Choose If... |
|---|---|
| Fresher | You just passed Class 10 in 2026 for the first time |
| Repeater | You previously failed Class 11 and are reapplying |
| Previously Passed | You passed Class 10 before 2026 |
C) Your Board
| Board Option | Examples |
|---|---|
| SSC | Maharashtra State Board |
| CBSE | Central Board of Secondary Education |
| CISCE / ICSE | Council for the Indian School Certificate |
| IB | International Baccalaureate |
| IGCSE | Cambridge Board |
| NIOS | National Institute of Open Schooling |
| Any Other Board | UP Board, Bihar Board, other state boards |
SSC students: After selecting SSC and entering your seat number, the portal will auto-fill your name, marks, and school details from the government database. Double-check this data carefully.
CBSE/ICSE/Other board students: Your data will NOT auto-fill. You must type everything manually. Keep your marksheet in front of you.
Phase 2 — Academic Details
For SSC (Maharashtra State Board) Students
| Field | What to Enter |
|---|---|
| 10th Seat Number | Your SSC exam seat number exactly as on the marksheet (example: A123456) |
| Mother's First Name | Exactly as it appears on your Class 10 marksheet — spelling must match |
| Click "Get Data" or "Verify" | The system will auto-fetch your name, DOB, school name, and marks |
After clicking Verify, check every auto-filled detail carefully. If your name, date of birth, school name, or any marks appear incorrect, do not proceed — visit a Guidance Center before going further.
For CBSE / ICSE / Other Board Students
| Field | What to Enter | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Seat / Roll Number | Your board exam roll number | Copy exactly from marksheet |
| Month of Exam | March or May | As per your board's exam schedule |
| Year of Exam | 2026 | The year you appeared |
| Student Full Name | Exactly as on marksheet | No nickname, no short forms |
| School Name | Full name of your school | As per your Leaving Certificate |
| School Index Number | If available | Ask your school if unsure |
After completing Part 1, an official must verify your marks and eligibility before your form can be approved. Without this, your form stays "Pending" forever.
Phase 3 — Contact Details and Password
| Field | What to Enter | Why It Is Important |
|---|---|---|
| Email ID | Your personal active email address | All official notifications and allotment letters are sent here |
| Mobile Number | Your own personal mobile number | All OTPs and SMS admission alerts come here |
| Security Question | Select from dropdown | Used if you ever forget your password |
| Security Answer | Your answer to the question | Write this down somewhere safe |
| Password | Create a strong password | Used every time you log in |
| Confirm Password | Re-enter the exact same password | Must match |
| Captcha Code | Type the letters/numbers shown on screen | Confirms you are a real person |
Password Rules
Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include:
- At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
- At least one lowercase letter (a–z)
- At least one number (0–9)
- At least one symbol (!@#$%^&*)
Example of a strong password: Fyjc@2026Student
Use YOUR OWN mobile number — not a friend's or sibling's. Every OTP, every allotment SMS, and every important admission alert will go to this number. If you lose access to it, you lose access to your admission updates.
Getting Your Login ID and First Login
After you click Submit, the portal will display your Login ID on the screen.
Your Login ID typically looks like this:
- Mumbai students:
MU2026XXXXXX - Pune students:
PN2026XXXXXX - Nagpur students:
NG2026XXXXXX
Write down your Login ID and Password on paper. Take a screenshot. Do NOT rely on memory alone. If you lose your Login ID, you will need to call the helpline or visit a Guidance Center to recover it. Losing access to your account mid-admission can cost you a seat.
How to log in:
- Go to mahafyjcadmissions.in
- Click "Student Login"
- Enter your Login ID and Password
- Enter the OTP sent to your mobile
- You will reach your Student Dashboard
Phase 4 — Filling the Complete Part 1 Form
After logging in for the first time, your dashboard shows multiple sections to fill:
Section A — Personal Details
Check your name, date of birth, and gender. For SSC students, these are usually auto-filled and locked. For other board students, type these exactly as they appear on your marksheet.
If you spot an error in auto-filled data, do not just ignore it. An incorrect name or DOB will cause problems at the college reporting stage. Visit a Guidance Center to fix it before proceeding.
Section B — Address and Contact
Enter your current residential address in full — building name, street, area, city, district, state, and PIN code. This matters because some colleges and government schemes use your address zone to determine eligibility.
Section C — Category and Reservation (Most Critical Section)
This section determines which seats you are eligible for. Fill it with extreme care.
Main Category Options:
| Category | Select If You Are... |
|---|---|
| Open / General | Not belonging to any reserved category |
| SC (Scheduled Caste) | SC community with Maharashtra-issued certificate |
| ST (Scheduled Tribe) | ST community with Maharashtra-issued certificate |
| OBC | Other Backward Class with Maharashtra NCL certificate |
| NT / VJ / SBC | Nomadic/De-notified tribes with Maharashtra certificate |
| EWS | Economically Weaker Section with EWS certificate |
Parallel / Special Reservations (Tick if applicable):
| Special Status | Select If... |
|---|---|
| Sports Quota | You have sports achievement certificates verified by DSO |
| PH / Divyang | You have a disability certificate (40% or more) |
| Defence Ward | Your parent is serving or ex-serviceman |
| Orphan | You have an official orphan certificate |
| Project / Earthquake Affected | You have a collector's certificate |
If you select SC/ST/OBC but your caste certificate was issued by any state other than Maharashtra, your reservation claim will be rejected. Only Maharashtra-issued certificates are valid. Out-of-state students must select Open / General.
Section D — Qualification Details
SSC students: marks are auto-fetched. Verify them against your marksheet. Other board students: enter subject-wise marks manually, exactly as shown on your original marksheet.
Phase 5 — Uploading Documents
Each file must be:
- Format: JPG, JPEG, or PDF only
- Size: Under 1 MB per file
- Quality: Clear, fully visible — no blurry, cut-off, or dark scans
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| Passport-size photograph | Recent, clear, white background preferred |
| Class 10 Marksheet | Full marksheet scan — all subjects visible |
| School Leaving Certificate (SLC/TC) | Official original — not a photocopy of a photocopy |
| Aadhaar Card | Both sides in one file if possible |
| Caste Certificate | Only if claiming reserved category — Maharashtra-issued |
| NCL Certificate | If OBC/NT/VJ/SBC |
| EWS Certificate | If applying under EWS quota |
| Migration Certificate | Only for CBSE/ICSE/other board students |
If a scanned file is too large, compress it using free tools like ilovepdf.com (for PDFs), iloveimg.com (for images), or Smallpdf.com.
Blurry photos, wrong file type (like .heic or .bmp), file over 1 MB, partially visible documents, or uploading the wrong document in the wrong field. Double-check every upload before proceeding.
Phase 6 — Paying the Registration Fee
After uploading documents, you must pay the registration fee. Your form is not submitted until payment is complete.
Fee Amount (2026–27)
| Region | Approximate Fee |
|---|---|
| Mumbai | ₹50 per course (varies by number of streams applied) |
| Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati | ₹125 to ₹250 (region-specific) |
Payment Methods Accepted
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm)
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
- CSC (Common Service Centre) — if paying at a center
If payment fails but money is deducted from your account: Do not pay again immediately. Wait 24 hours — most failed transactions are automatically reversed. If not reversed, visit a Guidance Center or call the helpline: 8530955564.
Phase 7 — Reviewing and Locking the Form
This is the most critical moment in Part 1. Once you lock the form, you cannot edit it on your own.
Before You Click Lock — Final Review Checklist
Pre-Lock Verification
After Locking — Status Meanings
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Locked / Pending Verification | Form is submitted and waiting for official approval |
| Verified ✅ | Form is approved — you can now do Part 2 |
| Rejected / Discrepancy ❌ | Something is wrong — visit Guidance Center immediately |
You cannot do this yourself. You must visit a Guidance Center — the official there has the authority to unlock your form for you to re-edit.
Phase 8 — Verification and What Happens After Locking
How Verification Works
For SSC students: The portal automatically verifies marks against the Maharashtra board database. Most SSC students get auto-verified within 24–48 hours if there are no discrepancies.
For CBSE / ICSE / other board students: Automatic verification does NOT happen. You must visit a Guidance Center with your original documents. An official will manually check your marksheet, Migration Certificate, and Passing Certificate, then mark your form as Verified on the portal.
For reserved category students: If your caste/EWS/disability certificate is not digitally linked, an official at a Guidance Center must verify the original document physically.
Check your dashboard every day after locking. Do not assume verification happens on its own. Once your form shows "Verified," you can proceed to Part 2 (college preference filling).
Common Mistakes and How to Fix Them
Mistake 1 — Wrong Mobile Number
If you entered someone else's number, all your OTPs and alerts will go to the wrong person. Fix this before locking. After locking, visit a Guidance Center.
Mistake 2 — Name Spelling Mismatch
Even one extra letter or spelling variation can cause a mismatch during verification. For SSC students with auto-filled names, if it looks wrong, visit a Guidance Center. Other board students must type it exactly as on the marksheet.
Mistake 3 — Wrong Category Selected
If you select OBC, SC, or ST but do not have a valid Maharashtra-issued certificate, your reservation will be invalidated at the reporting stage. Select Open if you are not sure.
Mistake 4 — Locking Before Uploading All Documents
Once locked, you cannot add or change documents yourself. Check every upload field is filled before clicking Lock.
Mistake 5 — Forgetting to Lock the Form
Students fill the entire form but forget to click "Lock." An unlocked form is NOT considered for the merit list — it is as if you never applied. Always confirm your form shows "Locked" or "Pending Verification" status.
Mistake 6 — Payment Transaction Fails
Do not double-pay immediately. Wait 24 hours. If the amount was deducted but your form does not show payment success after 24 hours, visit a Guidance Center with your bank transaction ID.
Mistake 7 — Portal Slow or Timed Out
The portal gets very heavy near deadlines. Log in early in the morning (before 9 AM). If the portal times out mid-filling, log back in — your data up to the last saved step is usually preserved.
